see through

«We don’t see much independent animation from China - but you really need to see this one. After working on it alone for three years, a Chinese independent animator known as Jokelate has created this surreal anti-war themed animation titled See Through. It’s apparently a huge viral hit in China. It’s 16 minutes, uploaded in two parts on YouTube.»

forbidden land

the unrecognized
"The Unrecognized" is a short documentary that highlights the plight of Palestinian Arab Bedouin citizens of Israel living in the Naqab (Negev) desert in the south of the country, many of whom were forced off their lands following the establishment of the state in 1948. The human rights of these citizens of Israel have been continuously violated by over half a century of discriminatory governmental policies and practices.

forbidden land
"Forbidden Land" is a short documentary produced by Adalah - The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel that highlights the confiscation of Palestinian Arab-owned land by Israel. Thousands of Palestinian citizens of Israel lost their land in the 1950s and 1960s after the government seized it, claiming that the land was needed for "essential" public purposes. Attorney Suhad Bishara, head of the Land and Planning Unit in Adalah, explains that "these cases are classic ones of expropriation for the sake of expropriation, nothing more."

goodbye windows

goodbye windows, corrosion of conformity
wiseblood, 1996

Past regrets and future fears
Turns a boy to a man sooner than planned
All the same, the boy remains
Even though he's free, he can't fly with these heavy chains
Saw your mother yesterday
And she had these words to say like a judgement day

I think he shoulda known better
I think he shoulda known better

I'd rather have holes in my eyes
I'd rather have hole in my eyes
Then to watch your soul paralysed...goodbye
Your shining son no longer glows
Through the goodbye window
Through the goodbye window

Thirsty from the start
Very soon you learned the part of the redeemer, what a dreamer
So you're waiting on the call
Pretty soon you'll know it all, holy mountains fall

And he says...one might make you you lazy
two might make you crawl
three might make you crazy
And four ends it all

I'd rather have holes in my eyes
I'd rather have hole in my eyes
Then to watch your soul paralysed...goodbye
Your shining son no longer glows
Through the goodbye window
Through the goodbye window...

Should've known better...

porcupine tree

house of cards
